Comptroller Duties
Section 1. (d), Article VIII, State Constitution, provides that "the Clerk of the Circuit Court and Comptroller shall be Ex-Officio Clerk of the Board of County Commissioners, auditor, recorder and custodian of all county funds."
- Audit the Board of County Commissioners (BOCC) payments to ensure that transactions are valid, legal, and meet a public purpose.
- Process accounts payable and accounts receivable.
- Maintain an inventory of County fixed assets, including tangible personal property, buildings, land, and other Board-related improvements.
- Manage cash including investment of surplus County funds.
- Process payroll for all BCC, Supervisor of Elections (SOE), and Clerk employees.
- Account for grant funds.
- Audit contract expenditures.
- Prepare Department of Revenue tax filings.
- Prepare financial reports, including the County's Comprehensive Annual Financial Report.
